Shoplifting

If you are charged with shoplifting which falls under the charge of petit larceny which is a misdemeanor, you need an attorney and one that is experienced in criminal law especially here on Long Island. A person convicted of petit larceny, depending on the facts and circumstances of the incident, can be sentenced to incarceration, probation and/or a fine.

If you are charged with petit larceny and assuming you do not have a significant criminal history, there is a good possibility that the matter can be disposed of by way of a plea to a lesser charge that will not include any criminal penalties or even an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal. With an ACOD the matter is dismissed in six (6) months if there are no further charges during that period of time.

In order to receive such a favorable disposition, an individual charged with such a crime should hire an attorney with the experience to handle such a matter like myself.

When I served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office from 1989 to 1991 I handled many such matters. After leaving the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office in 1991, I continued to handle such matters as a criminal defense attorney and have handled countless cases involving petit larceny with excellent results.

If you have been charged with petit larceny and want to meet with me to discuss your matter, please call me today for your free consultation at (631) 615-1724.
